therapist told me, about accountability buddies, does anyone use them. How about body shadowing? I feel like I am 50 year old female, and can’t do anything anymore 🥲

Accountability buddies
Hello Pedro0617,Body doubling is really impactful for a lot of folks with ADHD.
There are virtual groups you can join, call a friend while doing chores or set up a Zoom call, whatever works for you.
I have a regular Tues morning Zoom and we are on for 45 minutes. Each of us tells the other what we are working on, set a timer, mute ourselves, and check back after 45 minutes. Just knowing someone is there can get you moving.
Doing better when someone else is with you doesn't mean you can't do anything on your own. It means it's easier with someone else, so why not make it easier?
Try a few different ways and see what works for you.
Some people use it to get most stuff done while others need a buddy to start or tackle particularly challenging tasks.
A challenging task doesn't mean it's hard, it means it something that is a challenge for you to start or complete, whatever that may be.
As best you can keep in mind that you likely discount what comes easily and chastise yourself for not being able to do the "easy" stuff. Just because it looks like it's easy for others doesn't make it so.
Give yourself credit for doing what is challenging for you regardless of what that may be.
Good luck,

Thank you so much for the explanation. How do I find body doubling virtual groups?
You can Google "body doubling " or virtual accountability or ADDA (add.org) has virtual support groups which are fantastic. There may be a body doubling one or attend a couple and find a buddy and meet some new folks - win win🙂Lastly, someone here may be available too.
Good luck!

The couple I have joined are just Zoom rooms 10 to 15 folks, with facilitators that are trained volunteers. They are there to keep things moving of need be. There isn't usually a particular topic or agenda, it's free flowing. Often someone brings up a question and others chime in with what works for them. One is scheduled for an hour the other 90 minutes. They are twice a month.
