I always try to reason my way out of getting up, and then always late for everything. I’m just so perplexed how ADHD is the reason I can’t get out of bed, or even execute tasks. It’s almost like I finally hit a wall, and am incapable of doing anything anymore 🥲🥲🥲🥲

my psych. suggested just getting up and brushing my teeth. Even if I do go back to bed. Often I will do something else after brushing my teeth. Sometimes I need to get up to use the washroom and am like well i’m here so i’ll brush my teeth. It usually turns into more…
I’ve found this helpful. Even if I end up heading back to bed or having an off day I started the day with an act of self-care and that feels really hopeful and good to me.
medication wise guanfacine helps a lot. its a non stimulant you take at night. it's actually a low blood pressure medication that doubles as impulse control. your dr might tell you that's for children. but I am here to tell you I am almost 50 and it has saved my marriage.
the other thing that helped me personally with sleep is non medicinal. it's a Lifewave patch called Aeon. it helped me with anxiety and intrusive thoughts at night. it also helped me with inflammation. But it did not help me impulse control.
