I had to switch Prescription plans. I was taking Journay; now it is cost prohibitive under Medicare Part D.. My doctor prescribed Methylphenidate ER and I need to find a pharmacy in Baltimore that has it in stock.

New Insurance and access to ADHD meds
Hi, TheLISound,
Thank you for reaching out to the CHADD National Center on ADHD. I understand that Medicare Part D is optional—are you able to go without it? I suggest speaking with your pharmacist to check if they can let you know when the medication will be in stock or if there are any alternatives covered by your insurance that would work for you. I also visited Journey PM online, and they offer a discount card. I'm not sure if you can use it, but here's the link. jornaypm.com/savings/ Here is the link to also address medication storage- chadd.org/advocacy-blog/a-w... chadd.org/advocacy-blog/tip...
If there is anything else you need, please let me know.

Did you know that you can contact the pharmaceutical company that manufactures Jornay PM and they will provide a coupon which brings the cost to $75 monthly? I realize that cost can still be to high for many people. For myself the medication is very beneficial since I struggle so much with morning motivation.
As for finding the methylphenidate, check with a local pharmacy instead of a big box company. Local pharmacies work harder to get the prescriptions their clients need.
