New and late Dx woman here, dealing with grief, shame, despair. Underperforming in so many areas and just not being able to “get it done”. Lots of negative self talk.
Found a free resource I want to share. Hope this is “legal” to do on this site. It is offered in the hope it may help someone in need, like me.
(Can’t figure out how to link so will just say Google Kristin Neff and/ or Center for Mindful Self compassion for free online self compassion meditations in an online group twice a day.).
Mindful Self Compassion- programs for beginners- circles of practise public offering.
These are sessions led by volunteers who are trained meditation facilitators: 8 am and 5 pm MTN time.
free and of course will also accept donations

It sounds like a great group. I have and have read her book- something I highly recommend. I'll say I was skeptical, but her book and writing opened me up to the concept and I know see both mindful meditation and self compassion as keys to my journey.I might just need to check out her site.
I was/ am skeptical too. Meditation is often a trigger for despair for me. But, so far, my experience with this has been very different. Glad to hear the book is worthwhile. Thanks for sharing that.
I feel very often overpowered by the ADHD. I’ve had lots of pro help. Meditation’s definitely helpful and I’m in love with the Center for Mindful Self Compassion.
Dear Lilwonder, you have described my situation succinctly. My therapist has been encouraging me to practice the self compassion 'muscle' for years. I have tried the Kristen Neff meditations in the past (on Insight Timer, also free), so I will try again. Thanks for the reminder. 'Trying again' has been a theme in my life, adding up so many 'false starts' usually ending in giving up and a demoralized self. Now with the ADHD dx I have a little hope.
