Hi - I have ADD. My hobbies include, reading, hiking, losing things, forgetting things, screwing things up, knocking things over, self loathing and self deprecation. For example - I always leave my car key in the ignition, so I know where the hell it is - last night, ready to go to work, no key. God only knows where it is. I take my girlfriend's car, get to work on time, ten minutes later, realize I forgot to punch in. Great. It looks like I was ten minutes late, and I have to stay ten minutes extra when I'm done. The guy I work for sends me out to get him some ice cream. On the way back, I stop at my place for a minute and put the ice cream in the freezer so it won't melt, and of course, I forget it. I'm telling you - IT NEVER STOPS

Hi - I have ADD
Like most people here I lose things, forget things, get distracted, lost track of time etc. all my life. But what has helped me is a sense of humor. I laugh at my mistakes, if I get mad, I laugh once I cool down, and so on. And I learned coping strategies. Car+house keys always in my right pocket - which I always check when leaving the house, and other such routines. And while I may have failed 10,000 times but I will start a new day hoping this day will go better! And I may or may not do things I had planned but the day goes better than the days when something happens and I lose my cool. Then things don't go so well.
I am telling you all this to say you can deal with your ADHD if you somehow learn to be kinder to yourself. I bet there are other people who remind you of your faults so why join them? If you screw up, if you must, feel upset for a bit but then allow yourself to be imperfect, try to get over your negative feelings, pick yourself up and move on. It may take a lot of practice but you will eventually get there! And then it is atleast a bit easier to face life's challenges! If you are like me, be in places where you feel inspired. Do what it takes to start your day in the best mood possible. Over time you will build up resiliency to face the days that don't go so well.

That was funny. And you write funny which is not easy to do. Definitely acceptance and also maybe get to know your blind spots ie. When things are out of sight they're out of mind. Or key placement routines. Although saying that, I have a key routine but do I use it? Anyway just wanted to say if you don't already write I recommend you turn your ADHD struggles into something we can all share and identity with and laugh at because your writing made me laugh.
