Any recommendation for (or how to find) employment attorney for consultation regarding ADHD and medical leave from work (New York State)?

employment attorney
I was unaware this existed. I did contact BOLI (bureau of labor and industry) who did an investigation for civil rights. A past employer fired me and I had a heir documentation saying “anxious doing x task” and “trouble paying attention to non verbal cues”
I am so sorry this happened . What did investigation find ? I think in ny adhd is disability and they need to make reasonable accommodations for you ( if you can perform job tasks)
The accommodations I asked for were getting redirections in writing and having a worker walk with me to the unit a few times. They didn’t do the latter be, but I did get things in writing, which is why I have so much proof. The investigation was supposed to be finished by Halloween but I think he worker has ghosted me. I’ve been trying to contact them at least once a month without information back. I think staying the squeaky wheel would help. It sounds like there’s a lot of cases since Covid. I’ve been more attentive to the lists of disabilities, and although my peas and anxiety are on the list usually, my adhd is not. I would say as long as you’re honest and upfront, you may get turned away in the interview process so wait until hired, but then ask for specific accommodations in writing. When I communicate to coworkers, most of them are understanding. The few who aren’t I stay away from the best I can.
You could try the NYS Bar Association Attorney Referral Service:

I think they charge $35.
