Do any of you have problems with impulse control? Are they getting worse for any reason?

I always used to get wound up quickly and I would say things I would regret all the time. But these days I am throwing and breaking things impulsively. I am scared because I don't want to be this way but I don't know how to stop.

I have the same problem so my Awesome Psychologist, prescribed me guanfacine. To help with impulse control and blurting out things, takes about a month to see its full effects. I work as a pharmacy technician Side not, this medicine has multiple uses, first for High blood pressure and later discovered to help with adhd and impulse control.

I was diagnosed just one year ago with ADHD, at age 64! I’ve always had a bit of an issue with impulse control and ‘hyper talking’. Yes, it did get worse as I got older. I’ve recently read that when our Estrogen drops pre-menstration our ADHD can get worse. And then at peri-menopause and menopause, when our estrogen drops forever, our ADHD symptoms can get worse. So I think that effected me and my ADHD. Your Mileage May Vary.

Hey 👋🏽 If I can ask how old you are? And does your menstrual cycle affect this impulse control issue?

I am 33... I wondered about the same thing but I have not been able to find a connection

Hi. Breathe.

At first this very primitive function was difficult for me to do. Like start meditating and I feel like I'm drowning or struggling.

When I first realized what was happening to me I could not speak in a rational tone, it was guttural and loud. And even 2 years later it comes and goes. Acute and chronic when I'm undermedicated like right now. I feel like I'm dying.

Sharing to help you understand I walk with you. I'm sorry this is happening.

Try boxed breathing, 4 4 4 4. Breathe in positivity when exhaling through mouth.

If you feel this is panic please try to order The Book of Relief by Emilie Maroutian.

I suffer ptsd too. Complex PTSD From surviving to thriving. By Peter Walker.

Both helped me tremendously. Blessings.
