It is important to get enough sleep. Also important to stay hydrated and eat right. These things affect those with ADHD stronger than they affect most people. You can also talk with your doctor about additional things you can do. If it is occasionally your doctor may or mày prescribe a little more medication for those times

amplifying this.

if you do nothing else get adequate sleep. If you really want to challenge yourself, remove an alarm clock from the situation. Plan your day so that you get to bed early enough that you wake up naturally before the time do you want to.

I concur with the previous comments really. I’m also on Atomoextine. The times I feel it is less effective is when I’ve either got in to the habits of not getting enough sleep, or not eating well (particularly too much sugar and carbs), drinking too much alcohol, or not using my body enough (walking, exercise, gym) . Also when I’m under increased stress typically with work (which is often out of my control) but can be helped by therapy and related techniques (grounding, meditation etc). However sometimes simply by just realising and taking yourself out of the situation ie taking a break (difficult to realise for us), going for quick walk etc. Obviously a lot of variables above but I think the key is realising when you’re starting to not feel good or any of the above is slipping, and correct some of the areas , as we can’t be perfect and many of those things above will happen to varying degrees :)

Helps to get the rest of your life cooking as much as possible. Good sleep ... walks ... exercise ... I once was on a dose of a med that was great, but I couldn't sleep on it--except when I exercised that day. Took me weeks to figure this out. Also had to reduce my coffee intake and cut off coffee earlier in the day than before. High carb diets are not good for steadiness and ADHD peace.

You gotta have some fun ... do some activities where you can turn off your brain and enjoy ... and video games and the internet ain't it! I'm talking like a sports league or dancing or some hobby ... Because ... even with meds ... I noticed that if I'm totally seriously and focused on one day .. . or let's say two days ... my brain wants to chill out and not focus on that third day.

I work mostly remote and sometimes I work on weekends to catch up ... I can work probably 7 days and then my crap just won't focus at all--meds or no meds. I'm at my concentration/focus limit. And there have been times when I didn't plan on that lack of focus and this had to happen multiple times before I saw the pattern.

Depression and anxiety can wear us down. Takes mental work to keep going when we have these. I to my surprise had a ton of anxiety. Only in therapy when the anxiety decreased (and this was not the focus of therapy) did I realize how anxious I was or had been. Reducing my anxiety has helped a lot with steady focus energy.

Depends on your job. My job does not wear me down ... I can make typos and little errors in my job ... my success isn't dependent on that ... i don't have sit in my job. If you have a sitting job, your brain is going to be more stressed and taxed.

Getting into nature and parks is really good for ADHD.

so true sounds amazing

the problems is i am a college student and having an organized program for me is like probably walking to the moon

find the disability office ... might have a different name ... they sometimes run study workshops and organization workshops ... also check out the college counseling office--just to have someone help you think of what next to do ...

OMG! Same here, my medication works well one day and other days not so much.

I asked my doctor and he says: there is no such thing. Glad I'm not the only one :/
