I'm new to the community but not ADHD. I don't want to feel lonely or not good enough anymore!

Hello all,

I am new to this sight but not new to ADHD. I am a highly ambitious individual seeking like minded ADHD individuals so I don't feel alone anymore. I was diagnosed some 15+ years ago and I suffer from rejection sensitivity and thanks to a car accident 2 years ago now that list has added narcolepsy which cost me my last job.

I have been researching start ups and entrepreneurship for the past 10 years but I always end up in an analysis cycle. It was only recently have I started confronting my emotions and my ADHD in a healthy manner so that I can move forward with a business of my own. But that being said I am here to meet others just like me and looking forward to making some potential new friends. Happy to be here with each and every one of you!

Welcome Macweb300! So glad to have you here! This is the perfect place to find like-minded people who are supportive and friendly. I feel your struggle. I juggled the idea of a business for a lot of years and didn't actually start it until I was diagnosed at age 50. It's been my hyperfocus for the past year and a half, and it's the best move I've ever made. I hope you're able to narrow down what it is you'd like to do so you can take action! If you ever just need someone to talk to, I'm here!

Just want to say welcome, and I can relate to the ambition paired with getting stuck in "researching" ideas vs. taking steps -- or when at a job, spending too much time gearing up vs. doing the work. Committing to one baby step helps me a lot, or to 10 minutes of action -- that can break through some inertia. Wishing you the best!

Hi New,

Tell me about it. Externalizing stuff has really helped recently. But accepting my diagnosis and finding the best coping methods has been a god send. I was trying everything I could to feel I was keeping up with my social circle. Pretty soon I feel they will be chasing me ;)
