I recently started seeking help for my ADHD symptoms. I've battled them my whole life, but it wasn't until I had my kids at 30 that my coping skills seemed to pretty much run out. Looking for any ADHD moms out there who have advice on navigating testing, medicine, therapy, etc. all while learning how to parent with ADHD. Even just sharing a similar experience helps.

Where My ADHD Moms At??
dont worry u will do just fine rembrr we have adhd and we think faster and are always 1 steep ahead of everyone
Hi there. I was finally diagnosed after two of my children were diagnosed this year. I just started Vyvanse 30mg and feeling much better in terms of productivity and focus at home. I’m not sure that it’s helping me at work yet where my ADHD was actually helping me (multitasking in a high pressure environment). I decided to try meds mainly so I could decide about medicating my children and to be able to help them navigate this.
I’m realizing now all the things I’ve avoided being involved in as a mother. I disliked dealing with the minutiae of homework and big projects (I would do it but last minute). Being on meds has helped me notice more and do more things than I used to. Yet I’m not as stressed as I used to be and I don’t feel like I’m working harder. It’s very strange.
Still working out my med dosage and very early in the process but wish you luck. You can take an adult ADHD test online but ideally see a psychiatrist who treats adult ADHD. I found webinars by Dr. Dodson (google ADHD and Dr. Dodson) to be very helpful.
