How do I know if I have ADHD? I used to be a 4.0 student in high school and now I am about to fail out of college. I have started to notice more symptoms of ADHD but do not know if I am overanalyzing the situation. I have lost all motivation to go to class and I don't do any of my homework. I do not know if this is caused by my potential ADHD or if I am just depressed or lazy. Ive been telling myself that I will change my ways but never do. I can make a list and write down everything in my calendar but then never act on it. I find ways to distract myself, whether it be social media, TV/ movies, or even cleaning !!

College is just harder than high school in part because YOU have to provide the structure since you're not in classes all day. You have to manage yourself and your time. I too crashed in college.
And if you have ADHD, lots of "free time" or unscheduled time is 100 times harder to manage than having full days 5x a week and living at home with parents enforcing some structure. Throw in an activity in high school, and you don't have to make any decisions about your time.
ADHD in college creates challenges every time you do a serious task. For one, you have lots of time to work on assignments--again, absence of structure, terrible for people with ADHD.
But this sounds like depression as well. Get to therapy and get to a psychiatrist.
And start reading online about "organizing my day" and adding structure and transitions to college and depression as well. Just so you know, you can begin to address your situation, but you need to get out of the depression (not doing anything) either with therapy and/or medication ... and lifestyle changing.
Yes, you asked the right concern it's hard to tell if someone has ADHD. To receive a diagnosis of ADHD, they need to have several symptoms of ADHD, not just one or two. And these symptoms must have affected their school, job, relationships, or other vital areas of their life. Only a doctor will know for sure. Being diagnosed by professionals is different they don’t just look at symptoms. They carry out several tests and analyze information about what and how many symptoms the person had when they started, how severe they are, and how long they have had the symptoms.
