How to schedule flexible remote work when you get tired easily?

Hi,

I started working remotely on a flexible schedule for about a month now. It's perfect for me because physical work environments are overstimulating for me.

My only problem is how quickly I get pooped out. My work is creative so it involves a lot of focus. Sometimes, I will work an hour or two and can't go on because I'm not thinking as clearly as I did when I started working.

However, when I take copious breaks (1-2 hours of free time) I feel so much better and can go back to work. But then that only goes on for another 1-2 hours.

I am not somebody who can work more than 2 hours straight (even with 5-10 min breaks. I am not a fan of Pomodoro because it is too short and my focus sets in after about 20 minutes of working).

I want to follow a schedule so that I don't fall behind. I cannot do a 9-5 schedule like some remote workers do. I need something like:

7-9a work 11-1p work 3p-5p work 8-9p work.

I'm wondering how other ADHD remote workers go about managing their time and energy to work? Has anyone tried working in 2 hour increments like I listed above? I love working remotely but I know that I don't operate like most people when it comes to it.

I have not been able to get support for long breaks like yours during the day, but then i have to be available by chat for colleagues most of the time. I try to reserve at least one good 2 hour chunk each day to focus on creative work or deep analysis.

Fwiw I’m trying to move to pomodoro with 30 minute increments so that I stop killing my self with sitting so long at one time.
