hello

My son likely has ADHD. Heā€™s almost 21 and has struggled over the last few years to focus and stay under control.

He doesnā€™t want to go straight to low dose stimulants so I wondered which supplements youā€™ve found to be effective? Iā€™ve read about B6, EPA/DHA and magnesium. But unsure of what else and what dose of B6 is advisable.

We will be checking out your video etc.

thank you.

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. Please speak with your healthcare provider prior to trying supplements just to be on the safe side. The supplements/vitamins you mentioned are all very helpful for ADHD, and ones I take myself along with other supplements to fully address the ADHD symptoms. ADHD symptoms arise due to issues with our physiology & neurochemistry. Due to issues with this, people with ADHD have low levels of certain neurotransmitters: Dopamine, Norepinehrine , Serotonin, Acetylcholine, B-12 are all neurotransmitters that people with ADHD have low levels of, and this causes a large variety of difficulties. Certain supplements help out with one specific neurotransmitter, while other supplements help out with multiple neurotransmitters. A supplement that helps with multiple neurotransmitters that I've read/heard people with ADHD have success with is grape seed extract (GSE). GSE is an OPC that helps with Dopamine, Norepinephrine, and Serotonin. I highly recommend a video on my youtube channel called "How to Make a Supplement Plan - Nootropic Stack for ADHD" for assistance on putting together a supplement plan from scratch. Hope this helps, Best Regards to you and your son!

thanks so much for your reply.

I used to take grape seed extract when I was ill with Lyme disease. Do you take it and how much/often?

Did you try Ritalin or concerta or any of those drugs?

Does the natural route work as well and how long does it take to see improvement?

I checked out one YouTube video - not sure it was you? Recommendation for lots of different supplements like L Theanine and Rhodiola & lion mane? Iā€™ve not heard of the latter?

I really appreciate your advice.

thanks P x
