We are a special breed

Hi guys,

I have been recently diagnosed with ADHD, am on Ritalin, its only been 4 weeks to be exact.

When I look back in my life I realize just how much this diagnosis has helped me, I didn’t understand why couldn’t I pay attention to details, why I got bored easily, why I always procrastinated some of my tasks especially those that look daunting, i am a mess when it comes to prioritizing but now i know.. this weekend I decided to dig more and understand ADHD and in the process I also met this community..

I feel better when i am on medication, i can focus and read things with understanding and am able to solve problems that I always thought were difficult..

I still struggle with low self- esteem and sometimes I just get this anxious feeling that I cannot explain where it’s coming from and it would disappear on its own and I would be back to myself..

If there are any sessions/ webinars where people share their stories and how to live with ADHD please share such links.

I am really proud to be part of this group, and everyone should remember we are a SPECIAL BREED.... WE ARE ADHD... we are awesome...

Hey MAKAQx2

Welcome!!! welcome!!welcome!— to the group!

Your post was spot on!!—

it’s awesome to see how much processing and understanding you have regarding your recent diagnosis,”adventures of medication” and I am so glad that you found this group!

I will say I started my med adventure with being put on Ritalin.. it was... rough— but that was...oh my gosh.. 2009? so (can’t math but...lol) And there is so much that has been uncovered with research and support groups and overall knowledge since 2009 that please know that whatever the journey brings you always always always advocate for your mental health and never lose that bright spirit and approach to your “condition” because I used to let people get in my head I started my journey proud of finally having a label to be able to research so that I could be my best self and I succeeded for quite a while but then I let those who are doctors those who don’t choose to see the bright aspects of this condition get in my head and it was awful please don’t do what I did LOL and if anybody gives you any shit ever—- Always be brave enough to bring it here I got your back and... welcome!! Welcome again!

Keep posting I really like your stuff have a good Sunday night
