Re-certification of ADHD diagnosis after 5 years?

Hello,

I was diagnosed in 2003 and then again in 2010 with ADHD. I was just told in August 2018 that this diagnosis cannot be certified due to the assessment being over 5 years old. Is this a stipulation of some diagnostic criteria??

Please share if you know anything about the requirements for "re-assessment".

This may be driven by insurance...? Did you ask your doctor what that meant? I haven’t heard of it before and am interested to know.
