Hey,

I'm Remi. Just want to introduce myself. I am at university at the moment and proscrastinate heavily. My emotions are constantly up and down and I'm always worried about my life decisions. Sometimes I alienate myself socially and end up feeling terribly lonely. I yearn for deep connections and subconsciously, instant gratification. Even more so because of my ADD.

I try to do all the calender stuff but I just find it difficult to follow through on my millions of projects that I create. I start - and don't finish. Leads to me feeling disappointed in myself all the time.

Would love some advice to reduce the anxiety, stress, disregard for others sometimes, my emotional intensity and on following through on my projects.

I'm in the same boat with you Remi, you pretty much described my current situation which is nice to know I'm not alone. Presonally I've found music is very helpful to get me through my projects. Best results are if the music is playing on a speaker instead of headphones because sometimes I get lost in the music. Instrumental music is the best for me with no distracting lyrics.

Take a hard look at your calendar. @HowtoADHD on youtube has a couple videos on how to get stuff done, but I'll paraphrase for the sake of time and space here. Your time is a limited resource. You cannot do everything on the calendar so you are going to need to see what you can say no to in order to keep your sanity.

If you are trying to finish every project and every chapter you are going to be setting yourself up to fail. Your projects do not have to be perfect. They have to be complete and make sense. Your instructors should have outlined expectations in the syllabus. If not, ask them. Explain that you are trying to understand what you need to do so that your ADHD brain can process it.

Start with one task, take just one bite at a time. Degrees are not earned on graduation day, but over the years you have spent working on the material.
