My long-time husband was recently diagnosed with ADHD and depression. It's nice to have clarification for the why of what I've seen and experienced.

Thank you for the support! We've been married for 40 years - lots of ups and downs. Learning is ongoing. Best to you and thank you again.
I'm currently in a relationship, and I find it very hard to focus on many of the things I like when I am not on a stimulant. One of the main things to keep in mind is that sometimes the medication if it is a stimulant, might make him want to suddenly focus on tasks more. one of the main things to keep in mind is to be patient and to be supportive of trying to learn the differences and similarities between him on and off the medication.
Its amazing that he has you. I was diagnosed as an adult. I know what my issues are now because medication has helped me "STOP the video camera" in my mind that i cant shut off. I cant stop moving.. I cant stop thinking... since taking Straterra and depression medication I can focus better and my video has stopped so i can focus on what i am doing in the NOW!
Your husband needing understanding and your support is awesome. YOU ARE NOT ALONE! my husband has been my rock even when i am difficult. I am so thankful for him.
HUGS to you and to him. I know that my Psychiatrist that finally diagnosed me and gave me hope telling me i wasn't crazy! I was Severe ADHD and OCD causing impulsive behaviors. I AM A NORMAL PERSON WITH A TREATABLE Brain disorder! YAY!
IT feels good to be able to say that.
Prayers for you both!
