Any tips for getting a child with ADHD to do something they don't want to without it turning into a screaming match/battle of wills? My almost-five year old will hyperfixate on "I'm not doing it" and no amount of reasoning, bribery, punishments can persuade him. These will be at times where he has to do the task as well (such as getting in his car seat, taking a bath, or putting back a toy at the grocery store) so there's no giving in. I try to offer choices "do you want a bath before or after dinner?" but come time for a bath he will pitch a fit even if he chose when it was happening. Any advice?

We have had a lot is success with Dr. Kazdin’s method: slate.com/human-interest/20...
It takes time and effort, but our five year old son listens to us about 95% of the time now. Kazdin also has a website with more resources:
I just found the course that I took: yaledailynews.com/blog/2020...
I'm in the same boat! I'll be following along for suggestions.
