My son is 15 yrs diagnosed with ADHD and ODD we’ve tried different stimulant medications when he was 8yrs at the time of diagnosis. He could not tolerate them and we stopped medication for a while given the difficulty side effects. He then become depressed and anxious during 8th grade and at the same time more impulsive and distracted. We recently put him on intuniv 4mg but unfortunately with no positive response. We’re now trialing Wellbutrin given that his mood is down and he’s unmotivated and his psychiatrist thinks Wellbutrin targets these symptoms. Looking to learn more about what parents have experienced with this medication which is used as off label for adhd. Thanks. Sorry for the long email.

My 15 year old grandson is on Wellbutrin and Intuniv. They work well together. The Wellbutrin is more for for his depression and anxiety. The Intuniv helps with his ADHD. Despite being a teenager he's a pretty nice kid to be around most of the time as long as he stays on his meds.
My son was the same way with stimulants. He has been on straterra for a few years and it has worked for him .We recently had to change his dose and he is also taking abilify once a day and it does help.
