Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I posted - we have been going through a lot of ups and downs, especially with my son’s educational environment. After being “kicked out” (getting our district transfer revoked) of a public school last month and not knowing what to do to go on any longer, I came across hypnotherapy. My son had one session before starting at his new school and he has been doing well ever since (he’s had 2 sessions so far). There are still challenges but we are no longer being called into the office for meetings and the teacher has communicated to us that he’s doing well overall. He’s now looking forward to school. Of course, we noticed his new school is well educated on positive enforcement methods and that has helped a lot. For me I’m happy that he is able to do all this without being on meds.
I just want to share our success and if you have question I’m here to help. 😊

From what I have observed in the sessions, I think that would be dependent on a individual level. For my son, our therapist took him back in time to meet his younger self who was “stuck” in an unhappy/traumatic state (which kids with ADHD usually have lots of these moments due to uncontrollable behaviors and environment). And with his older self brought him back to the current timeline.
She also works on a lot of cross patterning exercises. Yesterday she helped him to relearn his alphabets.
I want to point out that my son also started nuerofeedback and have been taking Chinese medicine as well. The most visible improvement came after one session of hypnotherapy though. Let me know if I can answer other questions for you.
We just started biofeedback and I'm really wanting to do nuero if this seems to help. I know alot of people turn to meds but my son is 5 and i keep thinking hes young, his brain can be trained and strengthened in the areas hes lacking. Hopefully....
There are definitely kids (and adults) who need meds, but this is a serious consideration. I feel a lot of parents get pressured into it or don’t do enough research or don’t have enough funds to try “alternative” methods (these treatments are honestly not cheap). We are lucky that although we are not wealthy, we have somewhat enough resource and support to try programs/methods/techniques that we are doing now. My son have been on meds before because his prior school pressured into it and I cried every night over it. We just tried and tried and tried again and again. I know it’s hard but these kids have no one else but us parents. Once in a while they get lucky and get a mentor at school who gets them.
One thing that has also helped us tremendously is taking parenting classes. By changing the way we parent we have seen great improvements.
