My 11 year old son who is T1D. ADHD, ODD is driving my house apart. I'm to the point I dont know what to do but cry. Cry for my other two kids that have to deal with this. They don't deserve this. Just a vent. I'm tired and wore down emotionally.

Welcome to the group, we are happy you are here. When you get a chance you can read the older messages from members and you will see many like yours.

Maybe we can help you find tools ( parenting classes, medication, therapy, etc) that can make life easier for your family.

We travel a journey from diagnosis to getting a stable daily life.

We are here for you and can provide you the help you need.

Big hugs in making it through the days.

Take care

BIG HUG! Sigh, it's SO HARD some days and sometimes I get home and I'm just bone tired. And then we wake up the next and do what we have to do for our kids. Most of didn't dream that this would happen to our kiddos, but it's what they have. The whole family. We are here for you. The best first thing I did was get my daughter and me into family therapy and get her to the pediatric psychiatrist. There are so many great people here to listen, tell you what happened to them or just give you a hug. Welcome!

Hugs mama its so hard sometimes

Man, do I feel you right now as do others. You are not alone. We all have a little a-hole human being that we love, of course, but causes such unbearable stress in the house. Tonight, typical for us, my little just 13 a-hole tells me she wishes dad would get a divorce, because he deserves someone better. Still, tomorrow, or maybe the next day, we will talk about today, she will feel bad, and she'll do it again. Don't give up on him. Research medication, parent training, and self care. Troll here for ideas. I personally have been visited by the fine City police Dept on two different occasions due to my DD screaming.

Anyway, hang in there, and read read read. Hugs

I thought I was alone... T1D by itself is enough stress, but then add the other two!! I can completely relate to you. ADD and ODD mixed with it is “the perfect storm”. Try to get a kid with those problems to try and responsibly manage their blood sugar... good luck to you. You aren’t alone.

I want you to call upon the Archangel of God for Healing Raphael. Not kidding continue to call upon his name three times with sheer compassion. I tell you time is at hand we have l forgotten.

Could you be more specific about what is actually happening? Is he punching holes in the walls? Hitting his sibs or you? Or just being obnoxious?

I'm going to cut and paste a reply I just made to another parent. I hope this helps you as much as its helped our family...

"Please, Please, Pleeease try EFT/Tapping 🙏💕 It's an amazing, practical, effective and scientific self-help tool that I could not live without. It is being used as a 'cognitive behavior' tool for PTSD on a professional level (ie: the VA Pschotherapy Department) Sandy Hook Elementary uses EFT to help Teachers and students (and their families) to deal with their PTSD and Teachers around the world use it in the Classroom to help students calm down and focus and get higher test scores. It has helped me overcome negative emotional issues engrained from childhood and deal with the daily crisis of having an ODD, ADHD, Spectrum Disorder child. I've been using EFT for 6 years and it's done more for me, my child and my relationships than 40 years of traditional therapy. I highly recommend this free and easy to use tool. I've included a website that can show you how to use EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) or Tapping. All you need is 5 minutes to get started."

Hi MP05,

I feel you completely on this. I am in the same leaky boat. I have an ADHD 5-year-old who I think is also ODD. She is destructive, violent, and is making our home life miserable for me and her two siblings. We recently went through a divorce and I've moved twice in three years as a result, which hasn't helped, and I can tell you, this situation played a part in that. Tough, but as parents, we all can't just quit when life gets hard. I am thankful to have been told about this group, and am hopeful I can learn and lean on this group of people who will truly understand our reality. Most don't.

I am at my wits end most days, trying to manage my impulsive child, while my two other children are basically ignored and truly dislike being around their sister. This hurts. What works? She takes Quillichew, which I think helps get her through the school day, but by the time she gets home, she is wild.
