So, When our son was diagnosed finally with ADHD and Anxiety disorder, it was like weight was lifted off of my shoulders because I finally knew what was going on with him. I could have a name/label to study up on and as a mother, there is never enough information that you can receive to help you understand and essentially help your child cope with their struggles. Right around the time my son was diagnosed, I came across a few lectures on youtube by a Dr. Russell Barkley. His lectures opened my eyes about theae disorders and I learned some extremely helpful tips on how to navigate around and redirect focus for my son. I highly recommend these videos to all parents and teachers to watch and understand how the mind of a child with ADHD works. Look up Dr. Russell Barkley.

I agree! Dr. Russell Barkley does a fantastic job of explaining ADHD and helping families learn strategies to be successful. HIs book, Taking Charge of ADHD, is an excellent resource. For me, having it as an audiobook has been easiest for me to 'read' it. I can listen while driving in the car.
Yes - I also find Barkley's work VERY enlightening. His 3 hour "Essential Ideas for Parents" on Youtube was the first real eye opener for me in the early days of the diagnosis.
Ned Hallowell is also a great resource and I believe he has ADD too?!
