ADHD support

I am a mother of an 11 year old child with ADHD. She also suffers from a textile eating disorder. I have struggled with not only getting her calm where she can function at school, but also maintaining an appropriate diet. She just doesn't eat. I am looking for support of others because I have dealt with this by myself without a lot of support from family, because they don't seem to understand. I currently joined this support group for support, understanding, and awareness of what others might have done to make things a little easier on children.

My daughter is 6 and May have ADHD, I say may because for 4 years now, we have heard so many different diagnostics....autism, auditory processing, social language impairment, you name it. She also has oral aversion to many types of food. She doesn’t like most things that kids like: popcorn, cake, ice cream, chocolate, etc. No fruits or vegetables... it’s hard. I want to find out for once and for all what the problem is.

That is exactly how mine is and it took a long time to get diagnosed as ADHD.

I just want to send my sympathies. I've struggled with family lack of understanding, too--and it just compounds the difficulty.
