I am new to this. My 5 1/2 year old son just got diagnosed with ADHD and we are going to be going over treatment plans to find what is best for him....With that being said dose anyone have any advice on natural remedies? I'm not against medication but I would like as much information on natural and medication as possible so that I can find what is best for him. This is alot of information to take in and process.
Thank you! Look forward to your responses.

Hi Tiffany. I'm Kymm and I'm new to this too. Our granddaughter was diagnosed with ADHD/ODD at 5 1/2. That was over 2 years ago. The only thing I have to offer is what we've done for her when she spends time with us. We immediately modify her diet and take out the junk including processed sugars, dyes and gluten. I use several supplements that have worked for her...GABA, Fish Oil with DHA and EPA, Probiotics and Meletonin before bed. She becomes a different person overnight...literally. her looks and her behavior completly change. But consistency is the key and unfortunately when she's back home with her parents and her daily nutritional habits revert, so does her behavior. I'm learning that each ADHD child is different and what works for one, may not work for another. But, unconditional love, patience and a spirit of gratitude go a long way toward giving us the strength and insight we need for these special children. My granddaughter has opened up new doors for me and I thank her regularly for helping me to see the world a little differently. I've had to slow down, simplify and communicate differently. We've also used EFT/Tapping, Essential Oils, massage and calming music as adjuncts. Since stress can make the ADHD more symptomatic we always prep the night before. This eliminates a lot of the morning's stressors. Also, having a different colored bag for everything...school bag is red, beach bag is rainbow, library bag is green, overnite bag is stripped...organization is key. And don't forget to make time for yourself...hire a babysitter and go to a movie or shopping or even get a massage. Take care my friend and look for the support you need to meet the challenges ahead.
Wow! You sound incredible. Your grandsughter is very lucky to have such a loving, intelligent grandparent. It is sad that the parents don’t follow through, still she has you. I think your attitude is so positive and that is the key. That is how i coped with difficult times, i looked for the good things, the things that made life better for both of us.
Please keep posting your story as so many are struggling and sound lost. Your way of dealing with this could help give hope to alot of these parents.
Thank You Kymm this was extremely helpful and helps me to have a starting point of were look and what to consider. This is a brand new processes for me and there is so much information to read and consider. I literally didn't even know were to start. I will be looking more into these. For my son... How did you know how much of each to give her? Did you have to do more than what was suggested on the back on the bottles?
