Is it the end of the school year yet???

Hi I'm new to this. I have a seven year old boy who was not dignosed with ADHD. But he does have focus issues and I think he's having trouble socially. A 504 plan was recommended by the neurologist. But the school didn't seem to want to put him on one. It's been a rough year. I find myself dreading opening my email because I know the teacher will have something that my son did at school and it's never positive. I'm so beat down with everything and I know my son is probably more frustrated. Any advice would be welcomed as I'm at my wits end.

Did he have iep at school or evaluation done

They set up an evaluation for him in April.

The neurologist said he wasn't ADHD. but she recommended a behavioral therapist. We have seen her once so far. We're trying the ideas she suggested. Hopefully, it will help.

What is inclusion???

In the inclusion there is a general ed teacher with one special ed teacher to support the kids with little issues .For my younger son they put him in kindergarten inclusion after regular pre k as my son was very moody and not social and hes doing better now .

Like i did not gave any consent to put him in inclusion in kinder but they said he needs support.

And for my elder one Ist grader I fight to get inclusion through IEP as he hav adhd and issues they wanted to put him

in selfcontained (all kids with disabilities in one place)for whole day .that I denied in Iep meetings .

Then I directly mailed and called special ed director told them whole situation , she help me alot and directed child study team to give my child inclusion as its my right.

You talk to some counsler or special ed ed team director to guide you if school is not listening .
