My daughter is 9 and was diagnosed with ADHD over a year ago. She's been on 10mg of Focalin, which has been working really well until lately. It still gets her through the day pretty well, but I swear wears off at 5:01pm on the dot every day. We talked to her pediatrician and given her age, he's reluctant to put her on a booster yet, but is recommending we try Vayarin. Has anyone tried this yet and have you seen any results (and how long did it take to kick in)?
Thanks!!

Hi! We tried Vayarin before medications and did not see any changes. It does however take a long time to build up in the system to show a difference. We have been taking it since April of this year. We are up to 4 a day and I don't know if it helps much. My daughter is 6 and she is on both a nonstimulant and a stimulant because of the support needed. I do believe that all kids are different so maybe you will have better luck! I with you all the best!
My grandson was on it for a long time and I never saw. much difference. But they switched his ADHD medication and he's having a hard time now so I may try it again. Problem is insurance doesn't cover it, at least here
My son has been on it for 3.5 months and we see a difference in mood! It took 4 weeks before we saw a difference .... he also takes 18mg methylphenidate to help w impulsivity and focus, as well as fish oil and vitamin D and B 12 supplement. (His naturopath found deficiencies).
I have read mixed reviews for Vayarin- and it seems to vary kid to kid. Worth a try I think!
Im thinking about it too - My son needs help focusing and I am having a hard time accepting the medication route. I am not sure this will be enough though...anyones input would be great
