A rare dry day for walking! My favourite tree that randomly started growing to the left a few years ago after (I think) a lightning strike 🌩️⚡🌩️

Today's walk
it’s always wonderful how many ”special trees” there are on any walks or runs. They seem to have a special place in our psyche, don’t they.
I think it's the stoic, just get on with it, attitude that Mother Gaia has that is sometimes sadly lacking in human kind!
There is some beautiful holly around as well this year, absolutely covered in berries. I was tempted to pick some to make a wreath, but then decided against it - the birds need them to eat far more than I need something pretty for a few weeks which will then go in the compost!
Glad it stayed dry and love the tree
She's fab, isn't she 😀 I always give her a nod on the way up and again on the way down. Thankfully she is surrounded by deciduous trees which are protecting her from being felled as most of her counterparts will be as the Welsh Forestry Commission doesn't fell any native decidous trees thankfully. I suspect she self-seeded there many moons ago - there's loads of random saplings popping up if you just look out for them 👀👁️👁️🗨️😁
Love your tree! 🌲🤗
This one of my favourites 🌳
