This is going to be the first of our photo walk challenges. Each mid-month I (or someone else) will suggest a theme for the monthly photo-walk-challenge. The idea is to take a picture on one of your walks that addresses the theme in some way and post it here on Active10. We can post these each as a separate post with the hashtag/word #Photowalk in the title of the post. (E.g. ”#Photowalk March: birds, dogs and a bathtub?” )
Whereas the thematic January challenge was all about the cold, our first photo challenge will be about that quintessential item we need to not feel the cold: our shoes.
So on your next walks, take a picture of your shoes as they encounter the elements. Or how did your shoes manage to conquer that sea of mud? Or take a photo of your favourite walking shoes stepping proudly over that stile accessing the next wide vista.
There have been quite a few discussions in these forums recently about different kinds of shoes, from zero-drops, barefoot shoes, toe shoes, walking boots, wide-toe-box shoes, and so many more. So on my last walk, I searched for a podcast that would tell me more about shoes. So if you’re interested in spending time walking and listening to the early history of the shoe, this might be the perfect podcast to accompany your search for that vista rich picture showing off your walking shoe adventures.
