Hi, I'm new to this group. I love walking. I walk about 6 miles a day on a school day because one of my kids was sent to a school miles from our home. To break the monotony I alter routes and listen to music. Absolutely love walking out in the countryside especially Yorkshire. Hoping to lose a bit of weight as it's been creeping up!

Hi Mambo1 welcome to the weightloss forum, this is great that you love walking, one of our administrators will be along at some point to give you advice about the site, but do have a good look around and also make sure you look on the NHS bmi calculator to find out how many calories you should be eating daily to lose weight. Make sure you do eat somewhere between the amounts it gives you to lose weight because when I joined I was eating less than this but never lost any weight. I was told by a member of the team that this was why I wasn't losing weight as your body thinks that you are starving it and turns what you do eat into body fat instead and this weighs more than calories so you don't lose weight. Don't make this same mistake. Good luck with your journey.
