My hubby has had ongoing issues with his left ear, doc thought he had an ear infection, was given antibiotics, didn’t help. Then he started with headaches which was unusual for him. He then had a fullness feeling in his head, constantly tired and a dull pain at the back of his head. Also has tinnitus.
Doctor referred him on the 2 week urgent referral for suspected acoustic neuroma.
Been to ENT this week, now waiting for MRI and hearing test.
Does anyone else suffer from the fullness feeling and tiredness all the time?

Hi, the symptoms you describe are probably things most of us with ANs will have felt at some time or other, however until your husband has an MRI scan, nothing we can say will really help. The waiting and not knowing must be very scary and stressful for you both. All I can say to you right now is that IF it is an acoustic neuroma, they are benign, so will NOT kill us or shorten our life expectancy, many never need treating, they are nearly always very very slow growing so we are usually just monitored with help for hearing loss, there is fantastic support out there, if needed, treatment is available, and we are still living our very best lives alongside our squatters! Don’t Google, try to distract yourselves as best you can, and let us know how he gets on. Lin
Hi thanks for your reply. We have actually come on holiday with the family to try and take our minds off it. It's just the waiting for the MRI that's the worst. X
I’ve just been diagnosed so understand some of the anxiety you’ll both have. Hope you guys are doing well?
I have a fullness but it’s specifically in my ear rather than my head. The MRI will tell you what is going on and it’s important to remember that acoustic neuromas are rare - the odds are in his favour.
Like Flappers said - If it is an acoustic neuroma, it’s not fatal, it can be treated and the support on here is amazing (see my post for the amazing support and responses I’ve had).
For now, try not worry about that, remember the odds and get on with the things you love to do, be kind to yourselves and each other.
Hi thanks for the reply. Yes it's the waiting for the MRI that is worst now but I'm sure the date will soon come.We have come away with the family for a break so that will definitely take our minds off it.
My husband said to me he feels it's going worse, he's so tired all the time and the constant pressure in his head is awful.
Will let you know how he gets on, thanks again and good luck to you.
Hi, he’s got his MRI tomorrow, so glad as his symptoms are getting worse.
He went for an hearing test a couple of weeks ago, they literally did one test. Last week the ENT specialist rang my husband to ask if they had done certain tests on him to which he said no, specialist not very happy so he’s see her next Monday for the tests.
Hi, Happy Festive holidays to you both. I hope your husband isn't suffering too much and he will get treatment very soon.
I am a newbie here and a scared one at that.
Long story short, I've had tingling in my head and balance problems walking like I'm drunk daily for over a year now. Just to add I never drink.. The last 2 months I've had terrible ear pains and popping , this sarted in 1 ear but now in both, also ringing and vision problems, plus feeling and being sick. GP is hopeless, he is saying this is vertigo and given me medication for which isn't helping. Oh yes, ear and nose drops, all useless.
