Information on post AN surgery

Hi everyone,

My husband had AN removed over a week ago. He's home now but still obviously suffering. Pain worse than other times, at different points around his head. I know we have been told it's normal and to expect it. However would be good to hear from anyone who has had this surgery. He has had tissue taken from his thigh and had this to also deal with. Realistically how long did this last for? I know everyone is different but as a rough guide. He has a patch, taking ibuprofen and paracetamol but doesn't seem to help.

Thank you

I am pleased to hear that he is home now. I cannot help with your question about the pain as I did not have any. I do know what you mean about having to deal with the fat harvest wound as well. Mine was on one side of my abdomen. It took me several days to stop fussing about it and get the courage to stand up straight. I called it my "complimentary, compulsory, tummy-tuck"!

Keep positive. You have gone through the worst part. I am sure that he will feel a little better every day.

If it is normal and he cannot cope ask for some bit stronger analgesia. Worth a try
