The wait is almost over—my surgery is in two days. I know it will be long. This will be the first time ever I am going through any surgery. Just wondering how it feels waking up afterwards.

Waking up from AN Surgery
My husband had successful surgery now and it was much better than expected. He put a few things in place before which really helped compared to other surgeries.
In order of importance and helpfulness
1. He asked for better grade anaesthetic - this meant he didn't get the regular side effects after like dry mouth and much sickness.
2. He asked to be hydrated straight after surgery. That made a huge difference too. Last time he was dehydrated and felt terrible due to that. Hydration is key to all of us feeling good and especially after surgery.
3. He asked for the ports in his hand to be put in comfortably, rather than in more awkward places like between the fingers
Hope this helps!
Good luck with your surgery.
Please post after once you're feeling back to yourself enough to post if you need further support and advice and experiences
When you wake up from surgery, rest but work hard as a patient get your brain into gear straight away it's s a hospital not a hotel.
Best of luck with the surgery.
