I still have tinnitus post op but find sleeping on my good ear helps as well as lavender oil rubbed on the outside behind my ear before bedtime as that is when it is the worst for me. Good luck!
Hello Skitrees
When I was first diagnosed I didn't have tinnitus; it developed as my hearing deteriorated, so I've just had to learn to live with it. I belong to an AN support group - some have tinnitus and some don't - of those who had tinnitus before their surgery to remove their tumours, all of them continued to have tinnitus afterwards.
Sorry, if you were hoping this would be an instant cure.
Best wishes to you both,
Tabby
I had tinnitus before surgery, they had to remove my auditory nerve in surgery and now deaf in my left ear and still get tinnitus in that ear too now. The specialists did warn me in some cases tinnitus stopped in some in continues.
Hi. Sorry to disappoint, but I had no tinnitus before the op, and severe tinnitus after it. It is best to just get on with your life and be interested in other things so that you ignore it. Play the radio quietly and concentrate on that instead. Sorry !
Mine stayed the same pre and post op. The nosies don’t change as much now, post op, it’s more just constant and the same. But as I lost my hearing totally in my left ear due to surgery..I’ve come to accept it (4 months post surgery today).
🌼 I think going through brain surgery my brain has accepted it had to suffer some consequences and we’ve come through it quite unscathed for saying what the procedure entails xo
Thanks for sharing.
