Hi all,

Since the removal of my acoustic neuroma via surgery in 2008 I have been left with severe tinnitus even though I am now deaf on the left side.

The noise is on the left side of my head and get's louder when I move my eyes to top left.

So here I am looking for help or cure.

Hi Tin-Ma,

I have neuroma I am on watch and wait, I have very severe Tinnitus I am actually off work as it’s unbearable.

I was given antidepressants for it. I play my home google in my bedroom with the sound of water. I can’t find anything that helps.

I am fine during the day but it’s at night when you are trying to get some sleep it’s awful. What are you doing for it just now ? Have you spoke to your Doctor?

Regards.

I was advised to stop drinking caffeine and alcohol. And drink huge amounts of water. Otherwise I distract myself with other things

Hi,

I had a tinnitus before my op in 2008 but it was different and not really bothersome .... But it was being caused by the AN .... What i have now is what i call white noise that my brain is giving off, i believe its an alarm system in the nerves due to the operation and this alarm will not switch off. I may look at treatment that i think they call TRT, this is all about how to live with it and accepting that it will never go away.

Hope all goes well with you and thanks for the message.
