So i’ve just been placed on this combined pill , i took one about 2 weeks ago because i didn’t realise you’re supposed to take it on the first day of your period! and now i’m 6 days late, i did start taking my pill again 4 days ago but i’m stressing out over my period! i can’t be pregnant because i haven’t had sex at all!!! but me and my boyfriend did do other things but it shouldn’t lead to my period being late does anyone have any ideas or even tips?

🤔 It is necessary to follow precise instructions. If your period doesn’t start within a few days, you could do a pregnancy test for peace of mind.

Directions

‘Each strip of Rigevidon pills contains 21 tablets, and you will take one a day for 21 days and then take a 7-day pill-free break before starting your next strip. If you’ve taken the pills every day for 21 days you will not need extra contraception during your 7-day break. You should take each pill at around the same time every day, so you might find it easier to take it when you get up in the morning or last thing before bed at night.

When you start taking these pills for the first time, you should take your first pill on the first day of your next period, if possible. Take the pill that is marked with the right day of the week so you’ll be able to keep track of your pills more easily.

If you miss a pill

If you miss a pill then you may not be effectively protected from pregnancy and may need to use another method of protection (like a condom) for a short while.’

i’ve actually spoken to a doctor! they said i can start it mid cycle and but the whole reason why my period is late is because that is what the pill does, i’ve got the hormones in my body so i’m not gonna have it until i finish this back, i couldn’t be pregnant so there’s no need to take a test

I’ve always been told they tell you that so you’re protected pretty much straight away, they’ve always said to me if I took it mid cycle then to use protection for a further 7 days because the chance of pregnancy in those 7 days is higher but if I take it the day a cycle ends then it’s fine to not use additional protection.

🙂 Being late may just be coincidental..stress and other factors can delay a period. If you’re satisfied with the information you’ve been given it’s probably just a case of waiting for your period to start.
