Hair loss/excessive shedding

I’ve recently noticed I’ve been excessively shedding hair daily, and when I wash my hair a ton comes out. I’ve been receding for a little over a year, and it’s getting worse. It makes me depressed, and it doesn’t help that I already struggle with depression and anxiety. Any advice or anyone that has a similar problem, please reply. Thanks.

Ask your doctor for full thyroid tests - T4, T3, TSH and thyroid antibodies. Also vitamin D, vitamin B12, folate and ferritin. Having low iron and thyroid can make you feel awful and bring about hair loss.

Hi, I also noticed my body hair in particular was thinning and any new growth is very slow and thin. After blood tests my doctor put me on a zinc supplement .. i didnt get much differance from it, The pandemic hit then so ive not been able to follow it up with my GP. Out of curiosity are you of menopausal age .. as i think this has something too do it. Its also quite nice not haveing to take care of body hair every week!!!

I just turned 35, and just had blood work done. Everything came back normal.
