Should consult a doctor

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about 2 years ago and after my recent diabetes check up my doctor suggested that it is possible that I’m slow burning type 1 and change my medication to tolbutamide but never really said take this instead of or aswell as so been taking it Instead I have however noticed that Since being on these new tablets my period has either been really late also been having problems in the night needing to urinate at least once’s one the night and at 25 I don’t think that’s normal.

What should I do

I have T2. Is the doctor your GP or a specialist? If you're not happy with what the GP's prescribed, you can always ask for a second opinion. Also, are you using diabetes.co.uk/forum/ ? It's worth using because it's a massive international community of all types of diabetics with masses of experience and knowledge.

I have looked at this a couple of time’s. It’s not the prescription it’s just that I’ve seen my GP about 3 times since being diagnosed and the specialist at the hospital once. My diabetes check was postponed at the start of the year due to covid but my doctor never really bothered to ring up and ask how I was doing over the phone.

All my diabetes annual checks this year were cancelled, but with the help of someone in my local branch of Diabetes UK, who knows who to contact about everything, although months after they should have happened, I've now had them all. But I've had other outpatient clinic appointments cancelled with letters which just say to contact your GP if you're worried. I don't think we should ever be waiting for them to contact us - it just doesn't happen! Pester your GP?
