😕 I’m so sorry you’re having to cope with this. There are other groups on Healthunlocked which should be able to give more support. Type ‘Anxiety’ in the search box (above right) to see the links.

Hi nicky, I have suffered the same for 8 years now it does get easier as you learn coping mechanisms, have you had any therapy or medications?

Mine has got worse since lockdown, constantly checking myself its torture. Some anxiety meds do have side effects for the first couple of weeks until they are in your system most take about 4 weeks to kick in and work

Anxiety is horrible and there is nothing worse than battling your own brain every day.

My advice is to find a supportive gp and ask for help. Don't immediately refuse medication as long as you are looking to get counselling or other support too.

You can learn to live with anxiety but it takes time and courage. Go be brave xx

I have struggled with it too so my heart goes out to you. It feels helpless and like it's taking over. Meds weren't helpful for me. I went for psychotherapy, read "Feeling Good" by Dr. David Burns, used online websites. This one is quite in-depth but it's easy to find where you might fit in: anxietycanada.com/learn-abo...

My best help was through my faith. I'm doing much better but I have to be on the lookout for it and know what to do. Feel free to PM me.

I would get all my vitamins & minerals checked & ask for RBC Magnesium Test. Most of society is low in mag, It's litterally called "the original chill pill". If you can't get tested just buy some & use to bowel tolerance. Our bodies need it for so many functions. I take powder & there are specific types for different needs. Look up charts on Pinterest. People & Definitely doctors don't realize how important all of these things are to our well being. Also if you're on any big pharmas, look up what they deplete & put it back in! Look up foods to calm you & herbal teas too!! Be well🌱
