Hi I'm 58 years old and started menopause around 5-6 years ago - so periods became increasingly erratic until I had my 'last' one 1.5 years ago. 4 weeks ago my breasts became very tender and I felt like I had PMS, 2 weeks ago, I started a period. It was in every way the same as any other period I've had - some pain, mood swings, facial spots, heavy flow that lasted a week. I have an appointment with gyny tomorrow. Does anyone have any experience of a sudden return of periods that is not related to some bad thing going on in your body... Is this ever 'normal'?

🤔 My own experience was ‘run of the mill’ but some people do find other changes occur.
There can be several causes of postmenopausal bleeding. The most common causes are: inflammation and thinning of the vaginal lining (atrophic vaginitis) or womb lining (endometrial atrophy) – caused by lower oestrogen levels. cervical or womb polyps – growths that are usually non-cancerous.

Could it be stress related ? . Our bodies are complex and maybe you ve produced more of oestrogen hormones than usual . Just a thought 🤔.
