I'm actually asking this for a close friend of mine. She feels not open enough to join this board or any other support group in the area so far. Could you say your wise word please?

She's 24 and she's been diagnosed with pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome). She's been with her fiancé for 5 years. She's adopted his son and they have been trying to get pregnant for 3 years. She has just recently being given medication to help her ovulate but since she has irregular periods she's not been able to take the medication due to not having periods. Due to having pcos she's been diagnosed with diabetes, thyroid issues, high blood pressure and she's only 24!! What might be the next steps?any words of wisdom?? TIA

I can’t provide any advice yet sorry, but there’s a separate PCOS community that might be able to help. Good luck!

I had a friend with it and I know that being overweight makes it worse but PCOS itself leads you more likely to gain weight so it's a vicious circle. I think she was given a diet plan with reduced carbs and specifically none after 6pm or something like that. She was also told getting pregnant might help but with PCOS it's more difficult to get pregnant! Good luck to your friend hope she gets it sorted out.
