Seeing a dr or a midwife?
Hi Nlc
Why are you seeing a midwife? My brother is a midwife in Australia and I don’t know of anyone seeing him after the birth of their child/children. I myself would see a doctor if I had any problems with my health. What is your medical condition? Wishing you well.
Warm regards Josephine 🙏❤️🙏
I’ve never heard of a midwife doing smears or replacing IUDs - in the UK midwives only deal with pregnancies, births, and postnatal care. Just FYI.
I see a nurse for smears and would only expect to consult a doctor if I had any concerns about my health.
I live in the states and have been seeing a midwife for my well woman visits for like 15 years. I’m waaaayy done having kids.
A midwife can do everything an ob gyn can do in regards to women’s health. They do my paps, place and remove IUDs and implants. They can prescribe birth control and write scripts for mammograms.
If you have no reproductive health issues, a midwife is the way to go.
You’ll almost always get better, more personalized and sometimes more comprehensive care. Most physicians are not like that at all.
