Hi XsamieX :-)

My thoughts are with you.

For years I battled with GPs because I had chronic pelvic pain.

All sorts went through my mind, and of course stress just made

things worse.

Eventually I found out I had adhesions around my ovaries.

Recently I found a breast lump, had a lumpectomy and am

currently having a course of chemotherapy, then radiotherapy.

Well done for pressing your GP. A woman always knows her body

best, no matter what.

By chance, I found out my last mammogram (in 2011) showed a white

dot in exactly the same place the lump appeared. As far as I know, when

any small irregularity is detected, this is never passed on to the woman

concerned.

The cells fell below a size that would automatically lead to a yearly

recall. So, by the time the lump was obvious to me, two and a half

years had passed and something radical had to be done.

Personally, I feel that if I'd been told at the time something abnormal

had been detected, I would have made every attempt to have it reviewed

at least a year later.

Stay strong :-) xB

I am so sorry to hear your news, I pray and hope that it is not advanced as yet, if you have an abnormal smear then it has to be repeated in at least three months, if you don't get a follow up appointment you then have to chase your Gp surgery for it. They also have a duty of care, so I am not sure what happened in your case. I am so sorry and all my prayers are with you and your family. For any one else out there reading this, smear tests are also offered in sexual health clinics together with any other tests you may require.
