Day 3 (already...!)

Calories Consumed: 1251

*5 a Day* Achieved: Yes

Activity/Exercise: 25 mins

Approx Calories used: 84

My activity/exercise is mainly Callisthenics. I've devised a 10-15 minute routine before I go to bed but I don't think I'm anywhere near the 10,000 steps that are recommended. I'm going to go into town tomorrow with my girls and I think I'm going to buy a pedometer. It might help me to keep "activity".

I'm averaging 1374 calories per day (Fat 47g, Carbs 190g, Protein 49g) Is the mix right? I don't know (might post this as a question in the "question" section) ... I enjoy cooking so I'm trawling through the BBC Good Food website for some low calorie well balanced recipes... I'll post any that I try and think are worth sharing...

I'm generally happy with how things are going, the only thing I'm missing is the extra fluids. Not alcohol or fizzy drinks but fruit juices, squash & cups of tea. I've been an avid water drinker since year so that's no different, it's the fact the other drinks I love to have regularly throughout the day, have calories that'd probably take me over my daily allowance :( but at the moment (3 days in) it's a compromise I'm happy to make.

:)

have a look at the hairy bikers diet cook book, i loved making some of those and divided the meals into smaller portions, so less calories that it stated.

Hi Tabytha,

Water contains no calories and tea with skimmed milk doesn't contain many and green tea (or white tea) also has no calories.

Hi Tabytha,

Some fruit juices are quite low in calories, you need to look for the ones with no added sugar.

I have either aldi or asda no added sugar cranberry juice - around 30 cals a glass. I've found that the clearer the juice the less calories it has!

You could also try half and half orange juice with sugar free/diet lemonade or soda.

Have a look at the information on your squash - you'll be surprised how little is in a glass of squash as its mostly water.

And if you're looking for some taste, you could also try squeezing some juice from fresh fruit into your water, like lemon, lime, orange etc. I'd say that the amount of juice you're squeezing into your water isn't that much so you probably don't need to count it!

Not what you're looking for?
