I was going to start the C25K yesterday, but I was stricken with the norovirus and unable to do much other than lie in bed and run to the toilet every so often.
I woke up this morning feeling much better, though still a little uneasy, and so called in sick to work. Wouldn't want to spread this around, right?
Anyways, by lunch I was feeling entirely human again and got up, cleaned up a bit, and decided today was as good a day as any to start running. So I downloaded the podcast, then noticed that there are loads of c25k apps out there.
And then I saw it.
Zombies, run!!
The fitness app that puts you in a post-apocalyptic zombie-infested world. I downloaded the 5k training app and I did the intro run and the first session of training today. The intro I basically walked the whole thing and listened to the story, but the 5k training was less story-driven, as it's training within the safe confines of the base as opposed to running from zombies. All the while it uses your own playlists on your phone.
Well, I'm not disappointed with it. I kept it up fine, the dog didn't slow me down at all, and I'm looking forward to the next episode in 2 days time.
