Is popped up again I fell off the wagon yesterday and today I ate two penguin biscuits. Somebody had some sweets for Christmas, I feel awful my face is huge I want to lose a stone in weight now and I figured that at a steady rate should take me 12 weeks 1 -2 lb a week. 6 weeks if I really push it.

Basically by the end of January 2025 I want to have a lost least 4lb.

Please don't judge me but I feel awful now that my weight is gone up I am out of control

hi Bluelady-sing please understand that nobody here will judge you that is not what we do on this forum. We are here to offer support and encouragement as weve all been in your position and some of us are still in that same position . It should be a good target to aim for to lose 4 lbs by end of January but dont put too much pressure on yourself .

Look at your daily menus and see if you can tweak them a bit . There are lots of different menu plans forum members use but I can only talk about the nhs 12 week plan which helped me enormously- it’s free just have a look at it and see if it might help you. Join the weigh in and talk to others on here , support them and they will in turn support you

There is help out there for you so don’t despair . Try to have lots of fruit in the house and less penguins if you can .

Hoping you have a better week. Remember what happened was last week today is the start of a new week for you

Hi Bluelady-sing, you’re not out of control because you are aware of what you are doing and eating and that’s a good start to reversing the weight gain. I’m not always successful in maintaining my weight loss, but at the moment, by being strict on the carbs and sugar, the scales are starting to show a good result. December usually difficult for me, a number of occasions when I won’t have choice of menu, but at least by being stricter when I can, I can limit the damage. Good luck for your aim of 4lb by the end of January that’s certainly achievable.

Oh its a bummer when this happens but its not the end. Start again 2 penguins is not the end of the world, not a total binge. Get back on track and try not to dwell on it and you'll be fine, good luck.

At the weight you quote you aren't out of control. I agree with other writers - Dec is hard . I went for coffee and ended up having a hot choc special with cream - wow it was good after trudging round shopping . If you don't achieve in 2024 then start in 2025. I did intense exercise which can build muscle hence weight gain . I felt and looked better but expected huge weight loss. The good mindful food you do eat is helping you and we can't see this but internally / gut wise etc . I have also reached an age where it is known to be hard to shed weight . I think my body likes the weight I am now but I would love to be about 7kg lighter. However the insane personal journey and maintaining to shed 7kg and keep it off would be for me too much and I would be thinking is it doing my body any good as I have touched on it previously - I have slimmer friends who have health issues .

In short we can all overthink and feel we need to be a certain weight , shape etc and sadly it happens to a lot of us including my granddaughters who are tall , slim but are going through puberty and want the blemish free skin I have but minus the wrinkles / lines . Try and be kind to yourself , think of the things you do have , watch all the news in the evening as when I do that I feel blessed .
