If the video doesn't work, go to YouTube and type in "The shocking amount of sugar hiding in your food"

All of those foods can be eaten when wanting to lose weight.

Portion sizes count.

The lady on there seemed to confuse 'carbohydrates' with 'sugar' though. The man who spoke right at the end explained it much better. Carbohydrates are converted to glucose when eaten and what isn't burned off gets stored as fat

I started to learn about Diabetes when my son developed it in 1986 when he was 5 years old. I was advised to count the carbohydrates and still do that now when looking at meal planning for my Diabetes

I get hungry days, sometimes where nothing seems to quite hit the mark no matter what healthy things I eat. I think you just have to do the best you can to get through it. Weightwatchers is an eating plan for life rather than a quick fix so if you can learn to cope with the difficult days ( whether thats through willpower or giving in to temptation ) you will manage better going forward. It may take you a little longer to get where you want to be but you will get there if you want to. Make sure you are eating all your allowance ( points or whatever they are called now).

Hi Frenchfields. I like Weight Watchers as it doesn't feel like a diet and I don't find the meal plans in any way restrictive. I use the WW dashboard as a way to keep track so I avoid later-in-the-day snack attacks, I am in this for the long haul as I have about 8 stone to lose to be anywhere near a healthy weight for someone with my medical issues. I am 7 stones heavier now than I was when I relocated to Eastbourne 10 years ago and it could take that long to get to where I want to be weightwise

I really liked weightwatchers, though its a good few years since I got to ’gold’ and I know things have changed a bit. For me it was the support and encouragement I needed to keep me going. Good luck with your weightloss.

I love it that they have dumped the calorie counting and now base the point system on how nutritionally sound the foods are. It ties in with what I learned in the dietetics courses I have studied. I combine WW with intermittent fasting and time-restricted meal planning. I'm looking into the DASH meal planning to help me with my blood pressure and kidney issues too

I’m glad to hear they are leaning towards encouraging healthier options - I always found it a little odd that the meetings were full of their own products which seemed to mostly consist of rubbish. I don’t know what DASH is and I think I would die if I fasted :D

Unless you eat in your sleep, you most likely already fast for several hours at a time. We use the word 'breakfast' as our first meal of the day because it breaks a fast. I'm waiting for Iceland to drop by with some food and then I'll start working on my meal plan for today.

I haven't been to any WW meetings as I'm not that great at social groups and the like. I tend to drop here for the group thing as I'm more likely to come across a wide range of ideas here than in a small group of people in a church hall. I like it that this forum also has a lots of variety in the methods that people are using to lose weight and get fitter and healthier

I just remembered what DASH means. It's 'Dietary Approaches To Stop Hypertension', so recommended by all the heart health sites I have looked at recently. It's not complicated and nothing that I haven't seen here regularly but using different terms. I first came across it when studying dietetics courses
