I am musing here thinking how up until now, ie. for the first three months of being on here, I realize that weight loss has not actually been at the forefront of my mind, hence my rather limp results. I do take it seriously. But by anyone's standards there's been a lot going on in my life ( omg! ) ( lol ) and i have really had to care for myself first. Not that watching your weight isn't , it is, very much so looking after yourself, but in and out of hospital I haven't been able to spend the *time * on my diet that I have wanted to. And I am not ashamed of that. I have had things to sort. But now ( why am I tempting fate?!) I can concentrate on my diet more. And that feels really good. I feel very positive about it all. If I can lose 5 pounds not really doing it full throttle then I can lose a lot more doing it paying it 100% attention. Right? Plus. You're all inspirational to me. You're all friendly, kind, considerate and helpful and I have found one slimmer who is now nothing short of a dear friend here, so it's all smiles. This site is super. Not being judged is very important to me, or I couldn't be here at all. I read your posts and marvel at how we're all in the same boat and all in this together and it makes me feel everything is possible after all. I went thru a very depressed stage about my weight and now I feel a bit better about it all. I hope it's ok for me to think out loud in this fashion. But I wanted to share it all.
Musings from Babette, your friend, xx.

Hello Babette22, of course it's ok for you to think out loud, sometimes you just have to let it out. So glad you found this site and made friends, they keep you going through thick and thin. Onwards Babette, onwards. Cheers x
Like button isn’t enough for that post Babette. Love 😍 None of us spend enough time being kind to ourselves (and that doesn’t mean giving ourselves chocolate 😂😂)
What a year you’re having - this will come good for you when you’re ready x
Hello PJsMom, I hope you are doing ok. You are so right about being kind to ourselves and none chocolate treats (😥 I love chocolate but maybe down the line) and have just recently started to treat myself each day by looking after myself better. I thought I looked a little lived in so I have taken to cleansing and moisturizing my face with the products I have had just sitting in the draw, and I have even put cream on my lips and around my eyes that says it helps with age (time will tell). I have even put some make up on, not loads, a bit of eye liner and mascara, blusher and lipstick but it made me feel better and look not so lived in, my husband bless him said I looked shiny then changed it to radiant 😂, good move husband. I think I can feel a new lipstick coming on, I love a new lipstick. Enjoy your day, I hope you have a good one. Take care x
If you can, treat yourself to a silk pillowcase, you can buy them on the internet on offer sometimes. Waking up each morning without sleep creases on your face can be very beneficial in the long run, I wish I'd known when I was younger 🤣
and a P.S. years ago my auntie told me she wished she'd carried on the face cream down over her neck and chest area that sees the daylight, so I've been doing that too.
Hello PandQs, thank you for your reply, I wish someone would have passed this information on to me years ago, I will go and look on the internet to look for silk pillowcases forthwith. I was recently watching a tv shopping channel, they have the most fantastic stuff and a beauty specialist, and just the other day she was saying about taking your moisturizing round your neck to the back of the ears and further down the neck and chest area just like your aunty told you, so I have started to do that myself. I will have to see if my creases and wrinkles come out 😀, time will tell, but I feel better just taken by a bit more time with myself even if they don't. Enjoy your day, it was lovely talking to you. Take care x
Other websites are available, but I have bought from Jasmine silk in the past, no problem. Also they do have more economical version that is cotton on one side - after all, you only need the side you’re lying on to be the expensive silk!
I completely agree with treating yourself with things that make us feel good without feeling guilty, I too treat myself to 'high end' facial products and my shower creme is very indulgent, but a little goes a long way ( just as well as there is a long way round me!!!) But I AM WORTH IT!! And I feel absolutely fabulous afterwards and ,more importantly, guilt free x x
Hello siggie, how are you doing. Thank you for making me giggle, bless you. It is important to look after ourselves, and, it's a lovely feeling when you have used something really nice. I totally agree with you, we are worth it. Nice to chat to you. Take care x
Hello Elissy, I hope you are ok. I agree, putting musings down can be good and allow us to move forward and this forum is brilliant for this. The backup on this site is second to none, so many people have been through so much life whilst on a weight loss journey and this shows when replies are given, we are lucky to have found this site, kindness and help abundant. Take care x
If you are in hospital then you get little exercise and the food I found acceptable but not what I usually eat . 5lb when not really focused is good . Lay it out in terms of pasta bags or sugar and this is really encouraging . Sorting out your mental health is more a priority as weight loss never feels that achievable if you feel awful - wellnot in a way where you make a concerted effort to balance your food . Not eating ain’t targeting weight loss . I have been out a lot recently. The weight is creeping on . I am happier but not when I get on the scales . I have energy bursts where we walk 15-17 km then whole days sat reading . I suppose I need to concentrate on an eating lifestyle where every plate is balanced and classed as nutritionally balanced but hey -I am human . I love food and it sure loved me . You clearly have a good sense of humour and don’t need guidance or lectures but sometimes a bit of support goes a long way . You are doing well .
Hi babette22 what a great post. When I read it through I wondered what you’d had going on in your life so I had a read of your previous posts. You weren’t joking 😂😂. Your posts give the impression that you’ve been reborn and I can tell that you are happy - it’s so good to read. You’ve been concentrating on your recovery. It now sounds like you are ready to work on your weight and I look forward to reading about your next journey over the coming weeks and months. Xx
Hi babette22 you are so right to let your feelings be heard, as life in general is a bit of a roller coaster, 😔 let it all out cos it doesn't do any good to keep it bottled up, you are doing so well weight wise and I hope you can work your way through this temporary obstacle. We all get tested one way or another. Wishing you well and have a good week. 🤔 xx
Think of it as you are already 5lbs towards your weight loss goal and are in a position to concentrate on that goal now. When we have pressing other concerns, whatever they may be, something has to go on the back burner and that's what you seemed to do but, you can now give it your full attention. Good luck on your journey there 👍
Babette22, just want to say hi today, I hope you are having a good day. I love the daffodils on your message, so cheerful and beautiful. Take care. Cheers x
Hello Babette, I didn't realise that we did that, I thought the wonderful people that run the forum did that. Well, they say you learning something every day. Take care xx
no they do but we have to say we want it. actually can someone confirm that for me please possibly? xx i'm a bit confused about it myself. only i know i have lost 6 pounds, on here, and it says 5. i'm sure its my error and not the good people on here. i'm not sure what i've done really.xx
Don’t know how I missed this post 😂. When your focused I’m sure you can loose whatever you want and we’ll be here to cheer you on babette22 , hope June is treating you well x
