Well I have had a very difficult week as work has been manic. Early starts and up at 4am and late finishes at around 7/8 pm. So tired and finding it hard to do sensible meals so had Chinese and sausage baps at burger bars. Nice but naughty. I lost 1/2lb so better than gaining but just need to get back into the swing of it again. Being sk tired doesn't help. I now have a pre opp appointment on the 26th but no date yet for my opp so have to keep at it till its all over then I can relax a bit. Just need that kick to get me going again. My fella says it ok. Dont worry it will be ok but I feel I cant relax yet. So much pressure to keep going 😫 😪

Struggling
Hey Ladytrucker1
it sounds difficult, try and take control - food prep on your days off to help you eat healthy food. I bake lasagna and a Shepards pie weekly - then I know I have a health meal at home and it helps me to not full up on expense unhealthy food. This is about your well being! Health is a solo journey!
I know totally where ure coming from, I've been exhausted lately and it definitely impacts on the diet, I was so tired I was just eating for energy. I made an appointment with my gp to check iron levels as I was low last year and it makes a huge difference. Don't be hard on yourself regarding the week gone by, you lost weight and thats brilliant, as u say better than a gain which could easily have happened. It would've been so frustrating too because u didn't have many options to choose from at the time.
Its great too your partner is supportive and just catch your breath and plan for the week ahead. You're doing your best, thats all u can do.
Thank youI read this just as I was tempted to go into greggs. As I read this I thought no so went next door into subway and had a roast chi ken salad. So thank you so much. I have also had a low calorie healthy meal tonight. Still been a long hard day but I have eaten healthy. Thanks to you. Your message came in at the right time
So a MASSIVE thank you xxz
Delighted to help, everyone who's trying to change lifetime habits knows exactly what you're going through, I've done it and do it but I know myself when I'm kind to myself and recognise how tired, exhausted and spent I am I realise how great I'm doing by juggling everything I do.Recognise how hard ure working and also trying to manage your weight and life in addition to that and you'll see how great you're doing. I used to work those kind of hours between travel to and from work and work itself and I never tried to lose weight. I ate the quickest easiest things and there was a pizza take 2 minutes walk from house!
Also recognise how hard it is to be continually accountable because u have your pre op appointment coming up. Sometimes we forget how much pressure we are facing until we look at it from a distance so again, truly you're doing great and you're only human so there will be times its not perfect!
Thank you for those lovely words. I read all these posts several times a day to keep me going. Its works as I have done well the last couple days. Not Chinese or burger bars. Good old subway salads for lunch. Its just the boost I need ro keep me going. Thank you
Thats a great idea Ladytrucker1, I usually check in on weigh in but its a good idea for sure. There's a subway in my town alright but I've only ordered once (!) but now u mention it its a great back up to keep in mind especially with the summer days in front of us. I never thought of it..If I remember correctly the chicken with black bean sauce and boiled rice or lemon chicken is a good low cal option but what the calories are I dont know. When I was in a slimming group they were always suggested options.
Don't forget to post on the Friday weigh-in, Ladytrucker1.

I read a quote a few weeks ago and it’s useful to have in your head. “Every day is a new start” Don’t worry about what is done just make every day a new beginning.
Having such long days is not good but try to plan ahead and have something healthy ready prepared. Not long to wait for your pre-op so hopefully not long until your op. Then you can rest up for a bit to help your recovery. Xx
Thank youI have just finished work. Another long day. I started the day well and kept it going. Today has been a good day. Ate healthy. But it was so tempting to nip into greggs but I resisted and went next door to subway and had a roast chi ken dinner. Well that was a start.

Subway salad bowls are amazing! They are so filling and great value for money. X
It's awful when the week gets you down and knackered we all get them but half pound loss is great.Hope next week is not so bad x. Good luck
Hi Ladytrucker1,
sorry to hear you are having such a hard time at work.
I addition to the great support here, one thing I have learnt is the importance of good quality sleep when it comes to weight loss. A quick search on Google should shine more info on this and how it encourages overeating plus slows any reduction in weight 👍
It is something we often overlook or struggle with due to work or health issues and by the sounds of what's going on work wise it might be difficult but is there a way to get an extra hour or 2 in bed?
Here's to you getting some quality rest and all the best for you pre-op assessment 😀
