Thought I would post an update on our rescue dog, Boris, and some pictures.
We picked him up yesterday, left home at 8am and got home at 4.45pm, we did stop a couple of times on the way home for water and to stretch his legs.
Boris was a bit nervous but very cuddly and loved sharing our picnic, especially the cheese and sausages.
I was a bit worried about how our other dogs would react to him, Blue-Moon was a bit growly, but Ziggy and Merlin were fine.
Boris is a little bit shorter than our springer spaniels and is a real mixture, think he may have some terrier in him as he looks a bit like a fox. He is all black and has a wirey coat.
Boris is really gentle and just loves cuddles, we took him and Merlin and Blue to the woods today and they had a lovely time. Merlin got extremely muddy, Blue quite muddy and Boris got his paws and half his legs muddy.
He has settled really well and is a lovely dog and we are so pleased that we were able to give him the life he deserves.

Yes its quite famous among rescue groups as its so completely true, and for animal rescuers they sometimes need to hear it when there are rescue struggles but one dog has a whole new life ahead of them π and another dog slips into the space at the centre or wherever and so in effect you rescue two dogs when you take one home π I think you are amazing π
Thank you, I can't understand why anyone would hurt an innocent animal and wish I could take them all in.I think you are right about needing to hear it. Sometimes I have to remind myself when things are not going well of that saying.
It is wonderful to see the happy stories of the dogs we help rescue, but there are so many out there in need of help. xx
Oh i've been waiting for this Loraine. π Thank you for sharing your first days with us π
He does look very cuddly, i recognise the leg cuddle lol. My friends cockers does it if you stand still for more than 30 seconds lol
He certainly looks quite settled and your other dogs just look inquisitive π I'm sure Boris will soon get the hang of getting spaniel muddy too πtoo.
After a long day yesterday i bet it was lovely to just chill out and go for a walk with them.
I've never had a dog that does that but I think Boris has been so starved of love that he just wants to be loved and cuddled.
I think he would have got much muddier if he had been off the lead, but until we have done some basic training and recall work he is staying on an extending lead.
It was lovely to chill with them today, funnily he was startled by my electric toothbrush, but not the hoover.
He was great overnight, slept in the hall as we didn't want to overwhelm him and he didn't make a sound or any mess.
He did spray a bit yesterday, but hasn't done today, think it's because he was a bit nervous yesterday but he seems to be much more settled today xxx
What a lovely addition to the family I'm sure he'll soon settle in with his new doggy siblings and you will help him overcome the bad times of the past
Yes it's got to be a great feeling, there all beautiful dogs I would love another one. I know when we got our dog she was so poorly but we managed to get her to good health now well apart from her allergys but she is happy and she is so much loved. There's my peaches and she is so cheeky too. Xxπ
Thank you Tank, the other dog in the crate with him has a lovely new home too, hopefully the other two that came with them will find their forever homes soon too.
