I’m tired. The little one has had broken sleep this week. My job is extremely stressful this week. Problems elsewhere. And all of that is fine because it represents how life normally is.
But having started this 12 days ago I now want to reach for the bar of cooking chocolate that is waiting to be used to make my sons birthday cake for tomorrow.
Any advice please folks? If I eat the chocolate I’m blaming you lot!
I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling, Tubby-one, but you're one of the last three people that have posted today, all of you struggling. Why don't the three of you get together and see if you can offer each other some support at this difficult time? You can all 'meet' on the Nutty Natterings post healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... and see if you can help each other
sorry to hear its been a rough week. Do you have a treat that you would like to eat? i don't know about you but cooking chocolate is never as good as the real thing to me! How about you plan a treat in for later this afternoon or set a half hour timer and if you still want it and track it then no bother- at least you will have consciously chosen in. we are only human and we can make a choice, best of luck and wishing you a better day
Hey. I’ve nothing in that I want, with the exception of a bag of goodies for a birthday cake. However, I busied myself with some coffee in the garden and time with the little one to take my mind off of things. Feeling better able to make it to lunchtime now.
What sometimes helps me (not always, unfortunately) is to sit down, do some breathing exercises and imagine that I have already eaten whatever I was craving for. There is just a memory left - memories I have from previous times, so I can use them 😊
Good point - sometimes I do a 15 min relaxation exercise/stretching from Youtube and find once my stress levels lower so does the need to reach for food!
If your body is used to sugar (chocolate) then 12 days isn't going to break that habit, and that's driving the hunger. The main thing is to deal with the hunger until your body resets.
A pile of veggies perhaps? Some cheese? Some full-fat yoghurt?
All these things will deal with hunger pangs, then you can think straight. 😄
Great answer to Hidden and exactly the type of advice I was about to give!
Tubby-one you need to watch the carbs, eat more veg and have some good healthy fats, those sweet cravings will go quickly if you do this and the above food will keep you full, even when stress and broken nights sleep are thrown into the pot.
Take moreless' advice and contact the other people that are struggling here as well, by chatting together you can offer each other support and you will feel stronger That's what peer to peer support is all about
